In Power BI, MTD, QTD, and YTD are commonly used time-based metrics that help analyze data over different periods. Here’s what they stand for:

  1. MTD (Month-To-Date):
    • Refers to the period from the beginning of the current month up to the current date.

  2. QTD (Quarter-To-Date):
    • Refers to the period from the beginning of the current quarter up to the current date.
    • Example: If the current quarter is Q1 (January-March) and today is January 7, QTD sales would show total sales from January 1 to January 7.
  3. YTD (Year-To-Date):
    • Refers to the period from the beginning of the current year up to the current date.
    • Example: If today is January 7, YTD sales would show total sales from January 1 to January 7 of the current year.
