Note: This question tests your familiarity with the more advanced features of Power BI. I can speak to some of the features that required some more variables in the most recent update for Power BI. Remember that these gaps might not exist in the subsequent months, and one would need to keep himself updated on the variable features happening frequently. For instance, the feature of calculation group— previously needed an external tool when I began this blog a few weeks back in October 2023 was enhanced.

Here are a few Power BI features that could be improved:

Visualization:

• Sequence numbers in tables and matrix visuals
• Conditional formatting for matrix columns and rows
• Conditional formatting using multiple measures and a legend
• Support for conditional formatting in line visuals
• Custom sorting of multiple columns in matrix visuals
• Support for legends on the secondary Y-axis

Data analysis:

• Support for year-end date in quarter and month functions (starts from any date) for the financial period calculations.
• Standard time intelligence functions for weeks.
• Support for table & matrix complex visuals functionality.

Usability:

• Slicer values search ability, similar to Excel functionality
• Cross tables multi-column search slicer
• Measures for summing row-level values
• Enhancements for SAP and Oracle drivers
• When not using a Tooltip Page, more control over Tooltips
• Larger data loads via field-based table partitioning in batches

I have tried to be specific in my answers and not be general. I have also mentioned that this is only a partial list and the areas of improvement are a continuous process of evolution.

Another aspect that could be improved is the Power BI mobile app, in terms of more features and capabilities. For example, the ability to create and edit reports and dashboards directly in the mobile app would be of immense use.

Though I believe that Power BI is a very good business intelligence tool, it is not without areas for improvement. However, as I have said earlier, Microsoft is serious about making it big for Power BI, so I am pretty sure we have a lot of good things coming from that end in the near future.
